Standard First Aid, CPR and AED

In the 8-hour Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED course, you will learn:

Basic life support, including how to properly perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

How to properly respond to an emergency, including checking the victim, recovery position, and preventing the spread of disease during treatment

How to properly treat for wounds, bleeding, shock, burns, bone, joint, and muscle injuries, poisoning, cold, and heat emergencies.

How to rescue and move victims. 

You will receive a 3-year First Aid certification and a 1-year CPR certification upon successfully completing the course.

Emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, individuals requiring certification.

Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED

Course content:
No matter how careful you are, kids get hurt. We can help you handle the usual bumps and bruises, as well as more serious injuries and sudden illnesses. The National Safety Council's Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED programs cover the latest techniques for emergency care, plus practical safety tips for preventing injuries.

Our programs also address important issues such as caring for children with medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, HIV), and dealing with signs of abuse and neglect.

Our pediatric programs were the first to focus exclusively on how injuries affect babies and young children. Child care professionals praise them. And they meet the first aid and CPR certification standards of all 50 states.

CPR and AED

In the 4-hour CPR and AED course, you will learn how to properly perform CPR and use and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

You will receive a 1-year CPR certification upon successfully completing the course.

Emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, fire, police ambulance, health care providers, athletics trainers, airline employees, life guards.

Duration: 3 - 4 hours

 

Bloodborne Pathogens

Pathogens are germs that cause disease. Bloodborne pathogens are germs transmitted from one person to another through contact with blood or other potentially infecious materials (OPIM). Airborne pathogens are germs that are spread through the air and can be contracted by inhaling the germ.

In the 4-hour Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens class, you will learn:

Definitions and information about specific bloodborne pathogens, including Hepatitis B and C and HIV.

Definitions and information about specific airborne pathogens, including Tuberculosis 

How bloodborne and airborne pathogens are spread

How to prevent infection, including personal protection equipment (PPE), engineering controls, work practice controls, universal precautions, and exposure control plans.

This class fulfills OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29CFR 1910.1030), as well as the NFPA required education and training standards for infection control.

It's for:
Individuals who may come in contact with infectious materials and environments as part of their job (responders, health care professionals, lab technicians, dentists, dental hygienists, fire, police, ambulance, EMS, as well as permanent makeup, tattoo, and piercing professionals).
